Young people and women in Lebanon strengthened their digital and communication skills through the EmpoweerNEET training programme. The training helped participants build professional profiles, communicate their strengths and use digital and AI tools responsibly.
Business Consultancy and Training Services (BCTS) completed the fourth training cycle of the EmpoweerNEET programme in Lebanon. Delivered during August and September, the training focused on Digital Skills, Self-Branding and Impact Communication.
The participants included young people and women who are not in employment, education or training (NEETs). They continued their EmpoweerNEET journey by turning their skills and ideas into professional profiles, personal pitches and digital content. The activities also connected their learning with employment, entrepreneurship and the Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE).
The training built on earlier sessions in entrepreneurship and financial literacy. It focused on how participants can present themselves, communicate their strengths and manage their professional identity online.
Participants explored self-branding, digital literacy, productivity, presentation skills and impact communication. They applied these skills through practical activities linked to their personal and professional goals.
Participants reviewed what online searches and their existing profiles say about them. They used SWOT analysis, value-proposition exercises and profile audits to improve their online presence.
They worked on creating a clear and consistent profile across platforms such as Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn. They also practiced organising files and workflows, selecting suitable content formats and using online tools with greater confidence.
Participants turned their professional identity into practical communication materials. They improved their professional biographies and practiced short personal pitches of 30 to 60 seconds.
They also developed digital content and presentations. The activities covered storytelling, persuasion, audience awareness and calls to action.
The practical sessions helped participants think about how to present their skills in an authentic way. They also considered which platforms best match their goals and how digital content can support employment or entrepreneurship.
The training introduced participants to a range of digital and AI tools, including ChatGPT, Canva, Gamma, Gemini Notebook, Trello, Google Workspace and Claude Code.
Participants used these tools to organise their work, develop profiles and content, create presentations and explore productivity applications. The advanced digital-skills session also gave participants an opportunity to develop their own productivity applications.
The training also highlighted the responsible use of AI. Participants learned about clear prompting, fact-checking, source verification and data privacy. They also discussed AI disclosure, bias and fair use.
A key message was that AI-generated content needs human review. Participants learned to check, adapt and improve AI outputs rather than use them without review.
By the end of the training, participants had developed practical elements of a personal digital portfolio. These included a professional profile, a short biography, a personal pitch and communication content.
The training helped participants move from general digital awareness to practical outputs that they can continue to improve. Step-by-step guidance and individual support also helped participants with different levels of digital experience.
A follow-up session gave participants an opportunity to review their profiles, pitches, content and presentations. Several participants also shared that the tools were already changing the way they work and that they had started sharing their new knowledge with others.
The training represents another step in the EmpoweerNEET journey to strengthen employability, entrepreneurship and digital skills among young people and women across the Mediterranean.
