The EmpoweerNEET project has launched its first training cycle in Lebanon, bringing together 50 selected young people to begin a learning journey focused on employability, entrepreneurship, and the Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE).

BEIRUT, Lebanon – 9 July 2026 – Business Consultancy and Training Services (BCTS) has officially launched Cycle 1 of the EmpoweerNEET training programme in Lebanon. The launch marks the transition from participant recruitment to programme implementation and represents an important milestone in supporting young people who are Not in Employment, Education, or Training (NEETs).

Following a competitive recruitment process, BCTS selected 50 participants to take part in the programme. Over the coming months, they will follow a blended learning journey that combines online and face-to-face training, mentoring, and practical learning activities.

Launching the Learning Journey

The programme began with an online kick-off meeting on 8 July 2026, where participants met the project team, trainers, and fellow participants. During the session, BCTS introduced the objectives of EmpoweerNEET, explained the programme structure, and presented the five interconnected training cycles.

Participants also learned about the blended learning methodology, attendance requirements, and the Participant Code of Conduct. In addition, the session encouraged participants to build connections and prepare for the learning journey ahead.

Cycle 1 Focuses on Employability Skills

Following the kick-off meeting, participants attended the first online learning session, which included introductory activities and a pre-cycle assessment. These activities helped trainers understand participants’ expectations, existing skills, and learning needs.

On 9 July 2026, the programme continued with the first face-to-face training session at Padova Hotel, Sin El Fil. The session introduced Cycle 1: Employability and Professional Readiness, focusing on professional identity, self-assessment, career planning, and workplace readiness.

Through interactive workshops, practical exercises, and group discussions, participants explored their personal strengths, career aspirations, and employability skills. They also received practical guidance on preparing professional, labour-market-oriented CVs that reflect current recruitment practices.

An Interactive Learning Experience

The opening sessions encouraged active participation and collaboration. Participants exchanged ideas, completed practical exercises, and worked together in small groups throughout the training.

Moreover, trainers adopted a learner-centred approach that combined individual reflection, teamwork, case studies, and experiential learning. As a result, participants strengthened their confidence, improved their communication skills, and began developing practical tools for future employment.

Looking Ahead

Cycle 1 marks the beginning of a comprehensive capacity-building programme that will continue over the coming months. Participants will complete five interconnected learning cycles covering employability, social entrepreneurship, business planning, financial literacy, digital skills, leadership, and transition pathways.

Furthermore, the programme includes mentoring, boot camps, practical learning laboratories, and collaborative activities designed to reinforce learning through real-world experience.

By combining technical knowledge with personal development, EmpoweerNEET helps young people strengthen their employability, explore entrepreneurship opportunities, and contribute to the Social and Solidarity Economy.

Supporting Youth Across the Mediterranean

EmpoweerNEET brings together partners from Lebanon, Palestine, Spain, Greece, Tunisia, and France to strengthen youth inclusion and socio-economic participation across the Mediterranean region.

The project is co-funded by the European Union through the Interreg NEXT MED Programme. It supports young people by developing employability skills, promoting entrepreneurship, and creating pathways towards sustainable employment and social innovation.
