Business Consultancy and Training Services (BCTS) completed the fifth and final training cycle of the EmpoweerNEET project in Lebanon in September 2026, bringing together 50 young people and women to strengthen their leadership, emotional intelligence and employability skills.

Delivered as a hybrid Leadership Lab under the theme “Overcoming the Inner Walls,” the training marked the completion of the five-cycle training programme in Lebanon. It focused on self-confidence, personal agency and transition pathways towards employment and entrepreneurship.

Strengthening Personal Agency and Self-Awareness

The training built on the skills developed throughout the previous EmpoweerNEET training cycles. Participants explored their personal strengths, values and priorities and worked on making decisions with greater confidence.

Practical activities also addressed communication and healthy boundaries. Participants practised expressing their needs and communicating with others in a clear and respectful way.

Overcoming Barriers to Professional Development

A key focus of the Leadership Lab was recognising internal barriers such as fear, self-doubt and hesitation. Participants reflected on how these barriers can affect their decisions and ability to pursue new opportunities.

Through practical exercises, they developed strategies to approach challenges with greater confidence and identify achievable steps towards their personal and professional goals.

Developing Emotional Intelligence for the Workplace

Participants also explored the role of emotional intelligence in professional environments. The sessions focused on understanding and managing emotions, communicating effectively, responding to feedback and working constructively with others.

These skills are relevant to both employment and entrepreneurship and contribute to participants’ ability to navigate workplace situations with greater confidence and professionalism.

Building Communication and Leadership Skills

The Leadership Lab also strengthened participants’ public-speaking and presentation skills. They practised communicating their ideas clearly and confidently while reflecting on their leadership strengths and areas for development.

The sessions encouraged participants to take initiative, recognise their potential and develop a clearer vision for their professional future.

Completing the EmpoweerNEET Training Programme in Lebanon

With the completion of the final training cycle, BCTS concluded the EmpoweerNEET training programme in Lebanon. Across the five training cycles, participants developed employability, entrepreneurial and personal skills designed to support their transition towards employment, entrepreneurship and further professional opportunities.

EmpoweerNEET is implemented by partners from Palestine, Spain, Greece, Lebanon, Tunisia and France. The project aims to strengthen the employability and entrepreneurial capacities of young people and women who are not in employment, education or training, while promoting social innovation and participation in the Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) across the Mediterranean region.
