BEIRUT, Lebanon – 21 April 2026 – The Business Consultancy and Training Services (BCTS) launched the EmpoweerNEET project in Lebanon through an online event. The event gathered key national stakeholders.

First, the team introduced EmpoweerNEET – “Upskilling NEETs through Social and Solidarity Economy.” The project supports 300 young people across the Mediterranean. These youth are not in employment, education, or training (NEETs).
Moreover, the European Union co-funds the project under the Interreg NEXT MED Programme.
The event brought together 45 participants from ministries, public institutions, universities, NGOs, and the private sector.
For example, representatives from the Ministry of Labor, Ministry of Industry, and Ministry of Social Affairs attended. In addition, several national organizations joined the discussion.
During the session, the BCTS team presented the project’s objectives and activities in Lebanon. They also explained the expected results.
In particular, the discussion focused on improving youth employability. It also highlighted the importance of social and solidarity economy models.
Furthermore, participants explored ways to connect NEET youth with jobs and entrepreneurship opportunities. They also stressed the need for stronger cooperation between institutions.
After the presentations, participants joined an interactive Q&A session. They asked questions and shared ideas.
As a result, they showed strong interest in collaboration and future activities.
Looking ahead, BCTS will lead key project activities in Lebanon. These include training programmes, mentoring, and job shadowing.
At the same time, the team will work with local stakeholders. This will help integrate NEET youth into the labour market.
EmpoweerNEET brings together partners from Palestine, Spain, Greece, Lebanon, Tunisia, and France. Therefore, the project strengthens cooperation across the Mediterranean region.
It also supports inclusive and sustainable economic development.
